Definitions

Service

The APK1 website, Android app, servers and the catalogue they host.

Application

Any Android package (APK), together with its screenshots, icon and description, made available through the Service.

Application page

The page on the Service that describes a single Application and lets users download it.

Developer

A person or organisation that created an Application or holds the rights to distribute it.

Publisher

A registered User who uploads an Application to the Service.

User

Anyone who accesses the Service, whether or not they have an account.

Accounts and registration

1. Browsing and downloading do not require an account. Registration is optional, free, and needed only for features such as publishing, reviews and profiles.
2. You must confirm a valid email address to finish registering, and keep the details in your profile accurate.
3. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your sign-in details private and tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect someone else has access.
4. We may suspend or close accounts that break this agreement, impersonate others, or are used to abuse the Service.

Using the Service

We provide the technical means to find, describe and download Applications. We do not develop the Applications in the catalogue, and in-app purchases or subscriptions are a matter between you and the Developer.

When publishing, you confirm that

• you are the Developer or have the Developer’s permission to distribute the Application;
• the Application and its listing do not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
• the Application contains no malware, spyware, or hidden functionality that is not disclosed in its description.

You must not

• upload modified, cracked or repackaged Applications without the rights holder’s consent;
• post spam, misleading listings, or fake reviews and ratings;
• scrape, overload or attempt to disrupt the Service or gain unauthorised access to it;
• create multiple accounts to evade moderation or a ban.

Moderators review uploads and may reject, edit or remove any listing that breaks these rules.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any Application will work on your device or meet your needs.

Applications are the responsibility of their Developers and Publishers. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from installing or using an Application, or from the Service being unavailable. We recommend keeping reputable security software on your device and reviewing the permissions an Application requests before installing it.

Changes to this agreement

We may update this agreement from time to time. The new version takes effect when it is posted on this page, and the date at the top will change. If you keep using the Service after an update, you accept the revised terms; if you do not accept them, stop using the Service.
